GIFT, ESTATE & SUCCESSION TAX PLANNING

Gift, Estate, and Succession Tax Planning

We have extensive experience in helping families with personal financial and business succession planning. The Corman Law Offices can advise you regarding various gifting strategies, finding the best solution for you and your beneficiaries. Whether you are considering a current gift or planning for the future, we can offer you guidance regarding the best method to provide for your loved ones.

We also offer our services in the planning and preparation of gift and estate tax returns under the recent changes in the federal tax law. Currently, there is an extraordinarily high exemption from paying gift or estate tax ($12.92 million in 2023), meaning most individuals will not have to pay any gift or estate tax, even when transferring the bulk of their estate. However, people are often not aware that any gift over a certain amount per year ($17,000 in 2023, adjusted annually for inflation) must be reported to the Internal Revenue Service on a gift tax return, whether or not any tax is due.

If you are fortunate enough to have an estate that might exceed the exemption amount, we devote a considerable amount of our practice to this area.
